The structure of the electronic cash register is mainly composed of electronic components and mechanical components, including seven parts:
1) Main board - central data processing unit
2) Memory - storage of information, data, programs
3) Keyboard - used to input various sales data
4) Printer - used to print sales invoices and manage stubs
5) Display screen --- used to facilitate man-machine conversation between cashier and customer
6) Cash box - used for cash collection
7) External device interface - used to connect various external devices
With the development of modern technology, the accessories of electronic cash register are increasing gradually. The common ones are as follows.
1) Printer - in addition to the internal printer, the electronic cash register can also be connected with external printer (such as kitchen printer and bill printer used in catering industry). )
2) Barcode reader, also known as barcode scanner, is a barcode reading device. It can be divided into four types in appearance: pen type, hand-held type, desk type and card type. According to the light source, it can be divided into two types: infrared light and laser.
3) Magnetic card reader - it is a device for reading or writing magnetic recording signals. Read the information recorded by the credit card into the cash register. It has many types and models, and can be divided into three types: single track, double track and three track.
4) Electronic scale - when weighing goods on site, the electronic scale will transfer the weight and data to the cash register.
5) Modem --- that is, modem is to transmit the data of cash register to computer through telephone line.
6) Backup power supply - that is, the UPS is used to supply power to the cash register directly from the battery after power failure.
7) Communication networking interface: its hardware consists of a set of chips or cards and physical ports, and its software consists of a set of programs. It mainly includes the communication interface between cash register and 485 interface card between cash register and computer.
